Wang Jiwu's 16 Longevity Exercises

  • Trinity Body Arts 1412 13Th St Ste 200 Hood River United States (map)

Wang Jiwu (1891-1991) was a well known and respected xingyi quan master and doctor of Chinese medicine.  He created these 16 exercises as a preventative measure to needing medical intervention and to be adjunct to martial arts training.  These exercises work the body from head to toe, combining breathing with gentle yet precise movements with the intention to stretch and “clean” all the joints of the body while balancing the energetic system.   When practiced daily, they have been shown to increase vitality, improve strength, coordination and balance, calm the spirit, aid sleep, improve resistance to disease and reduce joint pain.

The routine is the same for every class, giving you the tools to practice these exercises on your own.  This qigong is appropriate for all ages and accessible for most degrees of physical ability.
