Five Element Yin Yoga

An infusion of Qi Gong and Yoga based on the principles of Daoism.  Re-integrate yourself back into the natural world to understand your relationship with the seasons, your emotions, your health, and ultimately with yourself. This is a class designed to nourish the mind, body, and spirit while also empowering you to harmonize health naturally through movement and breath. 

Yin yoga is an inner journey, closer to the bones, helpful to balance the predominantly yang practices. This is a slower paced style of yoga which includes passive poses (or relaxing the body and muscles) combined with holding poses longer while focusing on the breath and being present. Many of the poses are seated or lying on your back or stomach. Yin is a great counter balance to more active styles of movement.

Key benefits: calms and balances mind and body, stress and anxiety reduction, increased circulation, improved flexibility, fascial release, improved joint mobility, balance to the internal organs and improved flow of prana. Just the thing to move away from the hectic pace of modern life and find some stillness.
